Tour Saint-Jacques from street

gay bnb

You want to comfortably enjoy Paris, my guestroom is what you need.

THE VIEW

At the 4th floor, you have a stunning view over the oldest park of Paris: Parc de la Tour Saint-Jacques.

From the lounge you not only see the Saint-Jacques tower and the Chatelet angel but also, on the island the Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle church and on the other bank the Montparnasse tower.

Building : the building has been built during the Second Empire (1852-1870) when the street was extended east of Le Louvre. It follows the strucutural Haussman rules.

Flat: this flat is the only in the building to have kept most of its original ornaments: plain wood doors, wooden floor in heavy oak in the Hungarian style parquetry, marble chimneys (though no more functional), ceiling moulding. Of course, it has been later fitted with modern conveniences!

THE PEACE

The Rivoli street is busy all year round, from Christmas time when shoppers are overloaded with gifts to Summer time when tourists flood the pathways.

In the very center of Paris, quietness is unexpectable... but you're lucky, enter and you'll be surprised. The double-glazing is great, you have the view without the noise.

Even better, the guestroom gives onto tiny Rue Pernelle; it is therefore peaceful.

THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

- communication commodities : free wifi, free US and Europe landline calls

- lifesavers : dishwasher, oven, washing machine, tumbler

- about the bathroom : bathtube with shower; bathroom shared with me

- toilets : as usual in France, the toilets are not in the bathroom but in a specific room

- cleaningness : the maid comes twice weekly

- bedding : sheets and towels are provided and set

- this is a TV-free flat

- there is no elevator

OPENING MY HOME TO YOU

After having been abroad for years, I enjoy meeting the world from my own home. The bed and breakfast is not a job but a cosy side-activity. It is a way of meeting mindsets I would have never crossed in my usual life pathways. It is fun, easy and refreshing.

This no hotel but my flat I open to you. The level of service depends on the friendliness of our interaction. I would like some guests to come again for all the joy they have communicated; for them I did my very best. Rare guests lacked the minimum education; I then provided the strict minimum.

I believe everyone is having a great time when you come as if you were being hosted at a remote friend's place. Yes, it is bizarre to pay for a friend's guestroom but I am afraid I could not sustain this activity without the money it makes :(

From the little experience gathered, I am drawing some generalities. I recommend to avoid booking here if:
- you consider yourself "an easy person who does not need much" (it is contradictory but all persons whom first words were those were overwhelmly demanding and annoying);
- you believe that booking my guestroom is cheaper than booking an hotel. You really can find cheaper options at hotels.

Oh, you are worried about who you are? You sure should not. If you have that concern and if you have read all the way down here, you are certainly a great person to host :)
